Jessica Marie Alba is an American actress. She was born in Pomona, a town in California, on April 28, 1981 to parents of French-Canadian and Mexican descent. She's an older sister to her brother Joshua. As a child she moved a lot due to her father's job with the U.S. Air Force.

Alba graduated from high school when she was only 16, and went on to attend the Atlantic Theater Company. She first appeared on film in Camp Nowherein 1994, and then went on to star in three episodes of Nickelodeon's "The Secret World of Alex Mack",well as in the first two seasons of the TV show "Flipper". Had her big television break when director James Cameron chose her to star in his sci-fi TV series "Dark Angel", for which she earned a Golden Globe nomination. In 2006 she received an MTV Movie Award for Sexiest Performance in the movie "Sin City". Since then she has starred in films such as "Into the Blue" (2005),"The Fantastic Four" (2005), "Good Luck Chuck" (2007), "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" (2007), "The Eye" (2008) and others.

Alba has been crowned "sexiest", "hottest" and "most beautiful" by numerous magazines and internet sites. In 2006, readers of the best popular magazines voted her the #1 Most Desirable Woman. Readers of FHM, GQ and InStyle must have thought the same when they voted her to be 2007's Sexiest Woman in the World, in May 2007.

Alba is married to Cash Warren who she met on the filming of her movie "The Fantastic Four". They married in Los Angeles in May 2008. They have one daughter Honor Marie Warren, who Alba gave birth to in June 2008. Alba is active in charities such as Habitat for Humanity, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Soles4Souls and others.
